The Chertoff Group adds three new senior advisors

New Professionals Bring Additional Focus in Areas of Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Intelligence, and Business Development

chertoff-group-logo-WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Chertoff Group, a global security and risk management advisory firm, is pleased to announce three new senior advisors to our organization.  These new advisors complement the firm’s current team of experts who bring decades of career experience and deep subject matter knowledge in homeland security, defense and intelligence, emerging technologies, big data analytics, and cybersecurity.

Chad SweetChad Sweet, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Chertoff Group, emphasized that the “continued expansion of The Chertoff Group is a natural growth of our services, capabilities, and expertise as we continue to deliver to our clients the highest quality of service and advice.”

These new senior advisors include:

  • Michael Locatis – Mr. Locatis is a recognized cybersecurity and broadband expert bringing unique industry knowledge from a variety of senior positions across the executive branch, state and local government, and private sector. Most recently, Mr. Locatis served as the Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for Cybsersecurity and Communications, overseeing cybersecurity and communication integration, network security deployment, emergency communications, and critical infrastructure resilience. Additional positions he has held include Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the U.S. Department of Energy, California Deputy CIO, and Colorado CIO. Mr. Locatis also serves as an advisor to initiatives focused on food and agriculture sector critical infrastructure protection and safety.
  • Randy Phillips – Mr. Phillips has more than 30 years’ experience in strategic development, information technology and corporate development, leading technology investments, mergers and acquisition, and strategic planning activities. Most recently, Mr. Phillips served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategy Officer of TASC, and previously held a similar position at CSC as Vice President for Corporate Development and Chief Development & Strategy Officer. Mr. Phillips brings extensive knowledge in domestic and international business development; acquisition, procurement and post-merger integration; and intelligence and national security.
  • Michael Shank – Mr. Shank brings unique industry knowledge and expertise having served in a variety of government operational positions employing cyber and intelligence operations. As the first NSA/CSS Representative to U.S. Cyber Command,(USCYBERCOM) he provided technical knowledge, insight, and leadership to optimize NSA/CSS enterprise support to USCYBERCOM and their service components. Most recently, Mr. Shank served as the Staff Director for the U.S. House of Representatives’ Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
