Can Entrepreneurship Really Be Taught?
Earlier today the SBA released a 40-page report on the effect formal entrepreneurship education has had on graduates that participated in their study. Having attended college at George Mason back in the 80’s when the closest thing to “entrepreneurship education” were a few courses that were focused on small business management I can say that it is helpful, but not a prerequisite to succeeding as an entrepreneur.
I believe my experiences starting and running a handful of businesses starting with my lawn mowing business started before I entered high school have provided far more useful lessons and experience than any college course could have.
Nonetheless I found the study quite interesting and encourage those serial entrepreneurs among you to check it out: Effective Entrepreneurship Education
